KENNY AND FAMILY
Kenny Evenson has been sharing and teaching his love of the game of golf for over 16 years. As an Assistant Professional at Camanche Trail Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas in 1997, he began his teaching career specializing in teaching junior golfers and beginners of all ages. He moved to Aiken in 2003, and quickly established a reputation as a highly positive and knowledgeable golf instructor who makes learning the game fun for everyone. He is a skillful teacher who is very motivating and works hard to make golfers at all levels more confident in playing the game. Kenny combines the rules and etiquette into his teaching to make golfers more prepared and comfortable out on the golf course.
Over the past ten years, Kenny has introduced hundreds of men, women, and youth to the sport here in Aiken through his individual lessons and clinics alone. He has also taught many college students over the past seven years as the golf instructor for the Beginning and Intermediate golf classes at the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Kenny is now the new Teaching and Golf Professional at The Aiken Golf Club and The Golf Club at Cedar Creek. The members and the staff at both clubs have been very welcoming and have made Kenny, his wife Beth, and his children, Kenny Dale, Isaiah, and Grace, feel right at home.
As for his new role at the two clubs, Kenny is really looking forward to the opportunity he has to teach even more people from the community to really enjoy the game of golf. “There are so many people wanting to learn the game of golf, and historically it doesn’t work out for many of them, which to me, is sad because it is such a fun game for people of all ages. Many people get poor instruction or none at all, and the game becomes frustrating and they give up. Golf can be played for so long and it is never too late to start. When I am teaching golf, my motivation is to help give people the confidence to persevere through a sometimes very difficult game”, says Kenny.
